On May 20, Czech Republic hosted the 55th Ostrava Golden Spike as part of International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Challenge where Usain Bold, the fastest man in the world, won the title and Iran’s Hassan Taftian placed third standing on the bronze podium.
In the 100m sprint, Usain Bolt of Jamaica snatched the gold medal with 9.98 seconds followed by Ramon Gittens from Barbados (10.21 seconds) and Iran’s representative Taftian with a record of 10.25 seconds.
Taftian’s personal record in 100 meters is 10.10 seconds and he found his way to the World Challenge in Czech following his gold medal at 60m section of 2016 Asian Indoor Athletics Championship held in Doha, Qatar.
